About the Campaign
Raju Basnet, a nine 9 years old child, is suffering from a complex skin disease. The disease has not been
diagnosed yet due to their financial condition. He lives with his grandmother, who is 70 years old, who looks after him with a faint hope that he might recover someday.
His parents(name disclosed) are seperated, and have both started their new lives with their new partners, leaving Raju behind in this critical condition, with an old lady, who herself needs to be taken care of, but still trying her best to save her grandson’s life, and doing a very good job.
Raju and his grandmother live in a small hut, located in a remote village named Jubu, the lower part of Sagarmatha region of Nepal. He is currently studying in Kalika basic school, in grade 4.Apart from his medical condition, he is very good at studies and has secured second position after being enrolled in regular school education.
At the age of 3, the color of Raju’s skin changed gradually and after the next 2 years, his whole
body was infected with this unidentified skin disease. Because of his medical condition, he is afraid of exposure and contact with other children of the school, the teachers and other villagers. He desperately wants to be cured, continue his education, and hopes to lead a normal life, growing up healthy to work hard for his grandmother, who also has only one wish, to see her grandson living a healthy normal life.
We would like to assure you all that a small amount of support from your end would be fully utilized in the diagnosis and treatment of this young boy, Raju, and help him not only recover from this disease, but also fulfil his dreams.
