Saathi

Saathi, a non-governmental, non- profit organization, was established in 1992 with the prime objective of addressing domestic violence against women and girls which was considered a taboo at that time. Through persistent advocacy, empowerment and research programs, they were successful in changing that scenario and bringing the issue of domestic violence as well as other forms of violence against women in the center of national debate and focus. They led the advocacy for the domestic violence legislation for fourteen years until the adaption of the Domestic Violence (Crime and Punishment) Act in 2009.

Saathi envisions a just and peaceful society where women and girls can equally enjoy their fundamental rights to lead a violence- free life regardless of sex and gender. Their mission is to empower women and children through the promotion of gender equity and equality based development.
Their primary category of work are safety, security and empowerment of violence victims and vulnerable women and children. They provide shelter and empowerment for women and children (victims of domestic and gender based violence).
Just a little support from your end could help change the lives of women and children, who were victims of violence, to lead a new and normal life and be reintegrated to the society as normal citizens just like us. The funds raised through this platform will be utilized for logistic arrangement and other provisional expenses for the GBV victims living in shelters that Saathi has been operating in different districts.
